Back From The Land of Lombard

Last night I returned from a week in Los Angeles during which every minute of every day had one purpose: LOOK FOR LOMBARD.

My friends, I looked everywhere; libraries, high schools, universities, studios, homes, private collections, and more. I interviewed new individuals, I bought more photos and the influx of information is overwhelming. Pardon my absence but I’m exhausted!

I am having a bit of a blogging block mainly because I really don’t know where to go from here. I could just post thousands of articles and photos . . . but I really need to finish the book. But I also don’t want to neglect all of you in the meantime! Luxury problems . . .

I am going to take the next 24 hours and make a game plan. Thank you for your patience and please forgive me.

Love and Light

  1. Take it easy kid. I’m grateful for all the hard work you’ve put into this website and I’m looking forward to the new book. It’s ok to prioritize and if that means taking a break on the website in order to make a better book for Carole so be it. I still love you and so does Carole!

  2. It was awesome meeting you. classic film fans UNITE! I’m glad you found LA helpful, take it easy now!

  3. Hi Carla:

Been a while since we last spoke. Sounds like your book is coming along great. I always found collecting the research is the best part about writing a book.

    Take care,
    Mike

  4. Welcome back, Carla. Take it easy for a bit to get yourself in optimal condition…then provide us with all sorts of Lombard information. I, and others, can hardly wait!

And to Kendra: You’re very fortunate living in Los Angeles, because you have so much there in the way of classic film history — all sorts of good stuff on Lombard and the people she knew and worked with. When I retire, I want to move to L.A. in order to continue my research on classic Hollywood.

  5. Rich: You are such a sweetheart and I love you too.

Kendra: It was swell meeting you as well and I hope to move done there to see your lovely face more often!!

Mike: It’s has been awhile. I’m going to call you tomorrow to fill you in on some stuff so try to answer your phone!!

Vincent: Thank you for your support and all the hard work you do for Miss Lombard. You rock xoxo

  6. Out of curiosity, how many people have you interviewed so far?

  7. 101

  8. Vincent: yeah, I like living here, I’ve definitely found it fun/useful for research, but unfortunately the bulk of information and artifacts for my favorite people are located in foggy London town, and it’s a bit harder to get over there and meet with people hehe :)
