Hats Off To Lombard!
Carole Lombard LOVED hats. The crazier the better. Want to see some of them? I thought so.

NEW CAROLE LOMBARD BIOGRAPHY

Neat. The black one is very stylish but I really can’t imagine what she’d wear the green one with. lol.
LOL! I can!
Man, I need hats like that!
The chartreuse hat is very unusual, especially with the elastic piece to fit underneath the chin. You don’t see that very often on women’s hats. Perhaps it was part of a costume for one of her crazy parties! That would explain it. I agree with Vicky about the black one, very elegant! I love all of the hats, and if we wore hats today, I would probably be out buying them all of the time, too. Something that intrigues me about all the hats women wore back then, how did they wear them and manage to keep their hair looking nice? Any time I wear a hat, I get terrible hat hair!
When I see that chartreuse hat, it makes me hungry…for green pea soup. Wonder why?
Because it looks like green pea soup!! She could pull it off though. Heck. She could be wearing a garbage bag and still manage to look terrific!
The black hat Carole is wearing looks like the hat she wore in her picture: Lady By Choice with Roger Pryor………………..notice that she wears a lot of her own jewelry in her pictures. She also buys some of the clothes she wears in her pictures: for instance, Mr & Mrs Smith, the black jumpsuit with the dotted scarf underneath, she wears that suit in a picture published in another CL book. Im no expert on her but I am observant! What a beauty!
