Hi, my name is Carla, I am 21 years old and live in Seattle, WA. Besides my love for Miss Lombard my passions include old movies, acting, traveling, reading, politics, and really good Mexican food. My obsession with Classic Hollywood began when I was in the second grade and started to play hooky so I could catch Gone With The Wind on tv. Finally my parents bought it for me so I’d stop missing school!
And then it happened- I discovered Marilyn Monroe. Right then and there I decided THAT is what I wanted to be when I grew up. A major movie star, super sexy, deliciously drunk, and then die young. I had quite a flair for the dramatic then. But seriously, Marilyn Monroe made being a victim so appealing, or so her biographers and profilers made it seem.
Anyhow, I grew up and by the grace of god shifted my world view. I then learned about and became interested in Jean Harlow, William Powell and Myrna Loy, and one day rented My Man Godfrey. To this day I laugh just as hard.
When I became involved in the business of internet realestate I noticed the underrepresentation of many of the silver screen’s brightest stars and with the development of platforms such as YouTube, I felt that the net had the power to preserve these legacies forever. Museums and libraries burn, books fall apart, film archives get lost, but the digital world keeps going. And so CaroleLombard.org was born.
My all time favorite films include Gone With The Wind (with a tissue box please), My Man Godfrey, Libeled Lady, Some Like It Hot, and Twentieth Century. Other actresses I admire are Vivien Leigh, Jean Harlow, Rita Hayworth, and Marilyn Monroe- ofcourse. I also quite fancy Angelina Jolie.
